SINP relies on an electronic points-based system that assesses eligible candidates. The EOI is the first step of most SINP applications: applicants create an EOI profile online, are awarded points based on the information in their profile, and are ranked in accordance to other applicants. The highest ranking candidates in the “pool” are issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs). If you are issued an ITA, you may then submit an application for the SINP category that pertains to you.

International Skilled Worker

This category is for those who wish to obtain their permanent residency by working and residing in Saskatchewan. There are three main sub-categories:

International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry

Pertains to skilled workers who:

  • Are living abroad or in Canada;
  • Do not have a job offer in Saskatchewan;
  • Are in the federal Express Entry Pool; and
  • Meet the criteria of the sub-category.

International Skilled Worker: Employment Offer

Pertains to skilled workers who:

  • Are living abroad or in Canada;
  • Have a job offer for a skilled occupation in Saskatchewan; and
  • Meet SINP criteria.

International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand

Pertains to skilled workers who:

  • Are living abroad or in Canada;
  • Do not have a job offer in Saskatchewan;
  • Are highly skilled in an in-demand occupation; and
  • Meet SINP criteria.

Worker with Saskatchewan Work Experience

The Saskatchewan Work Experience category is for workers or recent international graduates who have a valid job-offer from a Saskatchewan employer in a relevant field. The minimum Saskatchewan work experience necessary prior to application is generally 6 months, with some exceptions.

Entrepreneur

The Entrepreneur stream is for those with past business and/or management experience who are looking to obtain or partner in a business located in Saskatchewan. You must intend to reside in Saskatchewan and actively manage their prospective business. You must demonstrate they have the necessary capital, conduct an exploratory visit, and undergo third-party financial verification. Extensive market research and a business proposal prior to registration are mandatory.

Farm Owner and Operator

The Farm Owner and Operator stream is a form of entrepreneurial immigration for those who would like to move to Saskatchewan and who:

  • Have prior experience in farming;
  • Have considerable capital to invest in a farming operation; and
  • Intend to purchase and operate a farm in Saskatchewan.

You must plan to start a business centered on agricultural production (crops or livestock) in the province.
